Safari highlights;

(1)Kalahari Desert.

Kalahari Desert, large basin like plain of the interior plateau of Southern Africa. It occupies almost all of Botswana, the eastern third of Namibia, and the northernmost part of Northern Cape province in South Africa. In the southwest it merges with the Namib, the coastal desert of Namibia. One of the most surprising Kalahari Desert facts is that it is not a desert in the strictest sense of the word. It is a semi-desert.  receiving  110–200 mm (4.3–7.9 in) of rain per year and the wettest can receive more than 500 millimeters (20 in) in very wet years.

The Kalahari is regarded as one of Africa’s last wilderness areas and is probably one of the largest relatively undisturbed arid savannas in Africa hosting animals like Some of the iconic carnivores of the Kalahari include the Kalahari lions, cheetahs, leopards, and wild dogs. Notable herbivores include elephants, black rhinos, larger herds of gemsbok, hartebeest, springbok, wildebeest, and impalas.

(2)Sossusvlei

(3) Swakopmund City Namibia Africa

Swakopmund is a coastal city in Namibia, west of the capital, Windhoek. Its sandy beaches face the Atlantic Ocean. Established by German colonists in 1892, the city’s colonial landmarks include the Swakopmund Lighthouse and the Mole, an old sea wall. Next to the lighthouse, the Swakopmund Museum documents Namibian history. Inland, the elegant Swakopmund Railway Station, now a hotel, also dates to the colonial era. It’s safe to say that Swakopmund is the most beautiful and interesting town in the country. It’s definitely worth including it in your Namibia road trip itinerary. There are many amazing things to do in Swakopmund from observing incredible wildlife to skydiving over the desert and tasting local craft beer. The top attractions to visit in Swakopmund are: Swakopmund Museum, Swakopmund Jetty, Welwitschia Plains, Swakopmund Camel Farm, National Marin Aquarium of Namibia

(4)Damaraland

Damaraland has a wild and rugged landscape and is one of Namibia’s least populated areas. Southern Damaraland’s great attractions include the Gross Spitzkoppe and Brandberg Mountain, both home to a wealth of rock art and best seen at sunset.Damaraland was a name given to the north-central part of what later became Namibia, inhabited by the Damaras. It was bounded roughly by Ovamboland in the north, the Namib Desert in the west, the Kalahari Desert in the east, and Windhoek in the south. A home to animals like Gemsbok (oryx), kudu, springbok, Hartman’s mountain zebra, southern giraffe, lion, cheetah, and spotted and brown hyaena also live in the area. Birding is excellent, with over 240 species recorded.
