Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda Africa

Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular savanna park in southwestern Uganda and the best place to see lions including the Tree Climbing lions making it the perfect  place worth  to visit. Queen Elizabeth National Park, formerly Ruwenzori National Park, national park located in southwestern Uganda. It occupies an area of 764 square miles (1,978 square km) in a region of rolling plains east of Lake Edward and foothills south of the Ruwenzori Mountains.

The park is known for its abundant wildlife, and a home to 95 mammal species including African elephant, African buffalo, Ugandan Kob, hippopotamus, topi, waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, Nile crocodile, leopard, spotted hyena, chimpanzee and lion.

 The Park hosts over 600 bird species. including  Swamp Flycatcher, African Skimmer, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers, Grey-headed Kingfisher, Black-headed Gonolek, Verreaux’s Eagle-owl, Sedge Warbler, White-winged Terns, Grey-capped Warbler, Collared Pratincole, Martial Eagle, Gabon and Slender-tailed Nightjars

Queen Elizabeth national park nocturnal animals

During the night game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park you will be able to view nocturnal animals like porcupine, Aardvark genet cat, pangolin, leopards, lions, serval cats, civet among others. Boat cruise, this is an interesting activity in the park where you will be able to cruise meters away from the animals.

The park is famous for its big cats, including tree-climbing lions and leopards. Game drives in will reveal the parks range of big game including elephants, buffalos, antelopes and warthogs. Boat safaris take you across the Kazinga Channel that links Lakes Edward and George.
